Cupcakepalooza

The Graham Girls came over for a little Spring cupcake decorating. All children under 4 were required to frost topless as the chocolate icing looked "stainy". As usual, the Fink Girls spent lots of time frosting and sprinkling...without eating an actual bite of cupcake. Why do I bother?

Extreme Makeover: Feline Edition

Flora has been sick with a high fever the last two days. Thankfully, she is starting to feel a little better. Sparky had to pay the price, however, as I was too busy cleaning up the dinner dishes to have my hair done (Princess Disney Hair Salon Set).
The placement of the hair clips really does a lot for Sparky's angular face-shape and the rainbow colors bring out the blue in his eyes. Excellent job, girls!

Smores in April

Before picking Ava up from school, I asked Flroa if she wanted a snack. She said she wanted "smores". Well...it was April and 10:30 in the morning...but it sounded pretty good to me, too.

Flora is Kind

I had to snap this photo. Sy and Reese came over to play while Katie did a couple errands. Sy started to get tired and sad. He was crying that he wanted his blankie and binkie. Flora ran to her room and got "animal blankie" and a bink from the kitchen drawer and told Sy, "you can have mine...they make you feel better". Ahh...a heart melting moment. Even sweeter? Sy accepted the gifts and snuggled on the red chairs while they watched a cartoon.

Look How I Have Grown!

We were lucky enough to have Miss Finley spend Monday morning at the Fink Daycare. What a doll! She has grown so much over the last month.
Finley is trying so hard to crawl and can scoot and roll across the room. We are pleased with her gross motor ability. However, Flora must feels her Spanish skills need improvement as she always wants to read her Dora books.

A Meal Fit for Royality

On Sunday night, Eric and I took the girls out to dinner at the Rib and Chop House. Initially, they were less than excited to leave home as they were dancing to a Disney Princess CD. When Eric said they could wear their gowns to dinner, they eagerly ran to the car. People kept asking us if we came from a wedding...nope, just our living room.
Your chocolate milk...my lady.

Sleepover Success!

Last October, Ava and Flora's dear friend, Katie Nemer, attempted her first sleepover at the Fink house. Katie's sleepover ended at around 9:00 pm (although Ryan, her little brother, made it the whole night). I told Katie that we could try it again when she was 5 1/2 (last Saturday Night).

The evening started off with a fabulous dinner of Chicken on the Bone and ended with a new Princess Stories movie. Ava said she was ready for bed at 8:00 and the Fink girls were snoring by 8:15. Katie was in it for the long haul and fell asleep around 9:00. We were all so proud of her! Congratulations, Katie!

Zoo Day with the Murphy Family!

We spent a wonderful afternoon with Max, Bella, Brighton and Brooke Murphy. It was a classic Montana Spring day...starting out so warm that we had to take our coats off and it ending with sleet and snow.
I had to post some photos of the peacocks shaking their booties. The kiddos were so impressed!

Flora's Future Career: Child Passenger Safety Technician

Flora and I were playing babies this morning. She announced that she was going to take her little dolly for a ride in her car. I walked away and she rolled up in this contraption. Wow! That infant is even rear facing...upside down but rear facing nonetheless.

Goodbye Baby Teeth

With a huge sigh of relief, the Finks are proud to announce that Ava has finally lost her first two baby teeth. She initially told us that her teeth were loose on our cruise...in January. For the last two weeks, her two bottom teeth have been hanging forward on small threads as her permanent teeth were growing up from behind. When she talked, laughed and ate, Ava looked very "Appalachia".

I have to give her a big thumbs up for personal pain management as the "non-wiggle, eat all food with your molars technique" (though more timely) actually allows one to have no sensation at all in the tooth losing process. She unknowingly swallowed the first one while eating a snack at Reese's (she did not believe me when I told her she was missing a tooth) and the second one actually fell out while she was talking.

That gap filled smile is a beautiful sight.

Goodbye Baby Bed

Flora and Ava decided that they wanted to bunk together for a bit. So, I took down the crib and put up two twin beds. Flora and Ava did most of the hard labor...sawing, drilling, lots of pliers usage.
Eric worked on the less important components. We were so proud of him as his major role in the assembly of Ava's first big girl bed (not to mention her crib, the swing set, our shelving units, the underground dog fence, etc) has always been "holder of Steve's beer". He really stepped up to the plate.
First night in the Sisters' Suite.
A Sweet Contradiction...Big Girl Bed + Baby Girl Binkie
